How to Schedule In-Person Tutoring at the Solano Campus
- Go to calpoly.mywconline.com and log in with your Cal Poly account.
- If this is your first time using the Tutoring & Learning Center scheduling system, complete the brief registration form.
- On the scheduling homepage, scroll down and click "Tutoring at Solano" or the blue Maritime Tutoring owl.
- Filter by course or subject.
- Select an available appointment time.
Looking for Additional Virtual Support?
Maritime students also have access to virtual learning support offered through the San Luis Obispo campus.
- From the Tutoring at Solano schedule, click the Schedules drop-down menu at the top of the page.
- Select Academic Coaching, Study Session, or Tutoring.
- Choose an available virtual support option.
What is Tutoring?
Tutoring is a way for you to learn from and with your peers outside of the classroom. It is simply another form of learning, one where your learning is supported by the students around you. In a tutoring session, the process is just as important as the answer. Tutors can help you learn how to find an answer, how to construct an argument, how to ask questions, and ultimately, how to learn. Tutors are not instructors, so they don't give you the answer or do your work for you. Rather, they support you in your own learning by giving you tools to grow confident in your skills, so that you can find the answer yourself!
Who is Maritime Tutoring For?
Contrary to popular belief, tutoring is not just for students who are struggling. Tutoring is for everyone! Students of all experience levels can benefit from working with a peer tutor.
